Samantha is the sweetheart of film industry. That first appearance in Gautham Menon’s ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya’ had us going ‘aww. .!’ over the actress. Her small but matter of fact portrayal of her role as an AD in the film was more than enough signalling an actress of higher stature which she enjoys today.

However, it became the actress’s big break in Telegu version ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ in which she starred opposite Naga Chaitanya. Who would have guessed the couple would go beyond reel romance to real life partners! It is worth mentioning her that Samantha also received the Filmfare’s award for the Best Debut Actress.

‘Bana Kaathadi’ with Atharvaa is Samantha’s first straight film in which she essayed the role of a student of NIFT(National Institute of Fashion Technology) in which she won the hearts of youngsters with her innocent cute expressions in addition to a powerful performance. But one of Samantha’s singularly stellar performances came with director Rajamouli’s outing in ‘Eega’ which also released in its Tamil version. Playing a microartist in the movie, the film became a raving hit earning stupendous results inthe box office. 

Following a string of big budget films including with actors Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu, Samantha’s impact in the Tamil film space was re-established in 2014 with Vijay in ‘Kaththi’ directed by AR Murugadoss which apparently became the most profitable film of that year. Not to mention a second time collaboration with Vijay in ‘Theri’ giving a soulful performance which again earned her a strong presence among fanbase.

So one could say that Samantha’s talent was so refined that she was and is maintaining a stronghold in two of India’s major industries. Apart from film work, the actress is also a deep believer in charity and social work through her NGO Pratyusha Support. Samantha also finally got hitched with Naga Chaitanya and sure it was a joyous moment of celebration for fans.
