Tall and handsome hunk Gopichand, who has established himself as a very good mass hero, turns a year older today.

Being born in the family of film personalities, it is common for anyone to be inclined towards the industry. But Gopichand was never interested in films, though he is the son of director Late T.Krishna. It is only after his brother Prem Chand, who was preparing to direct a film died in a car accident, Gopichand decided to become an actor.

Though his first film as a hero, 'Tholi Valapu' had not fared well at the box-office, he continued to act in villainous roles in films like 'Jayam', 'Nijam', 'Varsham' etc, which brought him critical acclaim.Then he started his second innings as a hero with 'Yajnam' and there is no looking back for the actor then after. He has acted in some super hit films like 'Ranam', 'Lakshyam', 'Souryam' etc. His last film, 'Sahasam', has been also critically acclaimed and Gopichand scored good marks.

He is acting in the direction of Srivas, who had worked with him for the blockbuster film, 'Lakshyam' currently and his film with debutant Radha Krishna Kumar is also in progress. The first look of the film with Radha Krishna Kumar, released yesterday, has got a very good response.
