The two time National award winner Dhanush celebrates his 32nd birthday today. The content of the first line itself is enough to reveal what makes Dhanush, extra special- He has won two National awards ( as an actor for Aadukalam' and as a Producer for Kaaka Muttai') at a very young age which is a rare feat in Indian cinema.

Though his debut film Thulluivadho Ilamai' was a super hit, Dhanush's capability of sustaining as a hero was doubted by many as he was not considered to possess the looks and physique required for a star. But Dhanush proved that thinness is not weakness. Today, Dhanush is not only a leading star but also a successful singer, lyric writer and the producer of commercially successful and critically acclaimed film. To top it all, having acted in two Bollywood films he commands a pan Indian acceptance which has been a coveted thing for a South Indian hero.

Dhanush is continuing his successful streak as an actor with his recent film Maari' being declared as a super hit by trade pundits and his star status is soaring sky high. He is currently acting in Velai Illa Pattadhari 2'and an untitled film directed by Prabhu Solomon, a director of poetic films like Myna and Kumki'.
