Actor Jagapathi Babu is celebrating his 48th birthday today. The star who started his career in 1989 with 'Simha Swapnam' has acted in over 100 films in Telugu.

Though he was the most bankable Family hero until early 2000, he shed the image and did a few different roles that audience have never seen him in. His performance in films like 'Gaayam', 'Peddarikam', 'Shubhalagnam', 'Antahpuram', 'Anukokunda Oka Roju' are iconic and reference worthy.

Jagapathi Babu's father V B Rajendra Prasad is a veteran film maker who is now actively managing the Filmnagar Daiva Sannidhanam. Babu's elder brother is into business and owns Walden stores in Hyderabad.

Hit or flop, the actor continues to make films and with 'Raju-Rani, Jagapathi' on ETV, he ventured into Television shows too.He suffered severe oscillations in his career pendulam and yet bounced back last year with his 'Gaayam 2'. He won critical acclaim for his intense action in 'Jai Bolo Telangana' too.
