One of the very few to do varied roles in Tamil cinema is Abbas. A native of Bangalore, the actor celebrates his birthday today.

Introduced by director Kathir in Kadhal Desam, Abbas has come a long way acting in different languages.

Touted as the romantic hero of Tamil cinema once, Abbas had acted with all prominent actors including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijayakanth, Ajith and Madhavan among others.

Movies like Minnale, Kandukondein Kandukondein, Padyappa, Poveli, Hey Ram, Anandham and Malabar Police won him accolades.

His sophisticated looks and good acting skills won him fans all around the globe. He had acted in large number of Kannada and Hindi movies too.
