Director Prasanth Varma's next movie, a pan-India superhero outing, is titled 'Hanu-Man'. K Niranjan Reddy of Primeshow Entertainment is bankrolling the film, starring Teja Sajja of 'Adbhutham' and 'Zombie Reddy' fame as the hero.
On Wednesday, the film's main antagonist was revealed. It is Vinay Rai, who is playing a character named Michael. The fearsome villain is christened the 'Man of Doom', considering how dangerous he is. "Every kid aspires to be a Superhero. But only a Mad man will pursue it," the makers tweeted, sharing his first look via Rana Daggubati's social media handles.
Vinay Rai's get-up suggests that it has been inspired by some Hollywood characters. We see him wearing a gas mask and also a private eye patch. A super-villain, he is like Joker from 'Batman' and Lex Luthor from 'Superman'.
What then distinguishes him from known super-villains? "His character arc is great. The access to cutting-edge technology makes him especially dangerous," the makers say.
Starring Amritha Aiyer as the heroine, the film also has Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in a key role.
The film has cinematography by Dasaradhi Shivendra, while Anudeep Dev, Hari Gowra, Jay Krish and Krishna Saurabh are setting the songs to tune. Written by Scriptsville, the film has production design by Srinagendhra Tangala.
