Hansika: Truthfully, every thriller is distinct in its own way, and I have a deep appreciation for the genre. "My Name is Shruti" delves into a darker realm, exploring the largely undisclosed issue of skin trafficking. While society is aware of child and human trafficking, skin trafficking remains a clandestine matter. Shruti, my character, enters this disturbing world and grapples with its complexities, making the screenplay an intense journey filled with unexpected twists.

Can you elaborate on your character in the film?

Hansika: Certainly. My character is employed at an advertising agency, and the narrative revolves around her entanglement in the murky world of skin trafficking. The pivotal question becomes whether she succumbs to it or manages to break free.

Does your role involve any action sequences?

Hansika: There are indeed action elements, but they are grounded in realism. We aimed for authenticity rather than over-the-top theatrics.

Did you seek any guidance or suggestions for your role?

Hansika: Upon hearing the script, I questioned my mom about the authenticity of such incidents, wondering if the director was weaving fiction. To my surprise, my mom confirmed the existence of such clandestine activities. Intrigued, I conducted my own research to better understand the issue.

Is the film inspired by real-life events?

Hansika: While I cannot confirm, the director conducted extensive research and asserted that such incidents have occurred.

Did you find the role challenging?

Hansika: The real challenge lay in staying true to the script. While portraying the character, I often found myself questioning the plausibility of the situations. Adhering to the character's evolution and the script's twists posed a constant challenge.

How was it working with Prema?

Hansika: Although I didn't share scenes with her, witnessing her performance in the rushes was truly impressive.

What about the pressure of being in a lead role?

Hansika: The pressure is undoubtedly high, especially as this marks my first female-centric Telugu film. Yet, I find excitement in the challenge. I have a genuine passion for thrillers, both as a viewer and an actor, and I aspire to explore more dynamic roles.

Your thoughts after watching the final output?

Hansika: I am immensely satisfied with the final product. Now, it's in the hands of the viewers, and the initial response has been promising.

Why the gap in Telugu films?

Hansika: I have been occupied with Tamil projects, and the right Telugu scripts didn't come my way during that period. No regrets, though.

How do you feel about stars like Prabhas and Allu Arjun taking South Indian cinema to a pan-India level?

Hansika: It's fantastic to witness stars like Prabhas and Allu Arjun elevating South Indian cinema to a pan-India platform. While I haven't personally spoken with them, I admire their humility despite their widespread success.

Does the film's title reflect a certain attitude?

Hansika: The title doesn't imply attitude; rather, it signifies the courage and resilience of the character.

Reflecting on your journey so far?

Hansika: I am satisfied, but the hunger for more roles and diverse experiences persists. There's more I want to explore and achieve in my career.

Hansika: I don't have a specific dream role; each character I portray holds a special place in my heart.

Are you open to doing a biopic?

Hansika: Not at this point; I believe I am too young for that.

Hansika: The producer has been excellent, maintaining high production values without compromise.

How was the experience working with a debut director?

Hansika: Working with a debut director had its challenges and advantages. Despite lacking experience, he devoted his best efforts to the script. He proved to be a meticulous taskmaster, as evidenced by the 27 retakes for a scene due to a malfunctioning remote.

Does the film incorporate family elements?

Hansika: It's a film that resonates with all family members.

Hansika: As of now, that decision rests solely with the director.
