Hansal Mehta talks about his upcoming thriller flick 'Faraaz'

Maverick filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who is known for directing gems like 'Omerta' and 'Citylights', is all set to deliver big once again. His much anticipated thriller flick 'Faraaz' is all to release theatrically on 3rd of next month. Starring Aditya Rawal and Zahaan Kapoor and co-produced by T-Series, the film is based on 2016 terror attack on a Dhaka cafe.
In a recent media interaction, director Mehta opened up about what he has tried to explore with this film. According to a report in The Indian Express, he says, To me, Faraaz is a story of our polarised times. Through the one event that rocked Dhaka â the 2016 attack on the Holey Artisan cafe â Iâve tried to explore the broader theme of violence and what really drives young, vulnerable minds towards it.
He continued, Designed as a nail-biting thriller that plays out over one tense night, my attempt with Faraaz has also been to shine a light on the immense courage and humanity that it takes to stand up against violence. Because standing up against bigotry and the carnage it triggers is the only way to defeat it.â
Producer Anubhav Sinha added, âFaraaz is a story that needs to be told and Hansal has done justice to the story of the catastrophic event that shocked the world. It is a story about a hero who made a brave choice and celebrates the spirit of a young boy who stood tall for his loved ones.â
