21 year old Kerala lass Hanan is now a celebrity. No, she isn’t related to the movie industry at all. Again, no- she hasn’t winked her way to glory. She has won the hearts of millions after a newspaper article on her was published about how she makes her living selling fish, supporting her family and paying for college as well.
In a widely circulated video, Hanan was seen in a neat cut, clothes and a gold ring. May be that's why many were soon to call her bluff and fake. However, Kerala’s CM Pinarayi Vijay had this to say: “It's a matter of great pride when one is self-dependent as a student. The satisfaction one gets is immense if they fund their studies with the money they earn. Only those who have gone through such experiences in life will understand it.”
The CM’s office has directed police to take action against those who harrass and abuse Hanan on social media. Hanan, who is a third year college student also conducts tuition classes, does event management and radio programmes to support herself. She is a native of Thodupuzha, Ernakulam.
She used to sell fish after college hours. After her story was carried in a popular daily, many shared her story including politicians and film artists. But then there were also online trolls and abuses by people who believed it all to be fake. Apart from the Kerala CM, its tourism minister Kannantham also slammed all those who spread malice against the girl by posting wrong stuff about her.
