'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' has opened on expected lines. As was predicted in this column a couple of days back, a decent opening day of 5-6 crore was on the cards for the Mohit Suri directed affair. It wasn't meant to set a thunderous response from its first show itself and all eyes were on how word of mouth takes shape. Before that though, the film has to take at least a decent enough opening that would give it some kind of platform to escalate.

Fortunately for the film, Day One billing of 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' stands at 5 crore, which means it would now boil down to audience feedback doing the trick. Critical acclaim hasn't been all that strong for a film but since it targets female audience, what matters eventually is peer to peer response. If that catches up now between Saturday and Sunday, the Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan starrrer will have something to cheer about. As of now, the Mahesh Bhatt written film is in a wait and watch mode.
