Halappa gets clean chit, 7 years legal battle

The former minister of BJP government when BS Yediyurappa was chief minister Hartal Halappa was cleared of all the charges by the court on Thursday evening.

Halappa was facing the charges of rape on his friend wife and after seven years at the Shivamogga 2nd district court he has been clean chit. This has once again blossomed the political career of Halappa.

In the CID submitted charges on November 26, 2009 night Halappa went to his friend Venkatesha Murthy house and attempted rape on Chandravathi. The incident of Chandravathi Venkateshamurthy rape came before media on May 2, 2010. Halappa lost his ministerial position and the issue created furor.

Chandravathi husband Venkateshamurthy had changed his opinion nine times in the interrogation. The related proof was inadequate in this case in the later days.

On the court exonerating him Hartal Halappa relieved mood says the truth has got its placement. It was a very well planned political conspiracy he disclosed after the verdict.
