G.V.Prakash Kumar's fifth release as the lead hero 'Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru' which is also his first with Comedy Specialist director M.Rajesh released yesterday (November 17) in remarkable number of theatres across Tamil Nadu and also other locations.
Due to the pre-release expectations over the Rajesh-GV combo and also the presence of RJ Balaji and a host of other comedy actors the film seems to have taken a bumper opening across Tamil Nadu.
Producer T.Siva as Amma Creations is happy with the performance and audience reception for the film. Speaking to IndiaGlitz he said "The film has grossed over Rs.2.5 crores from Tamil Nadu theatricals. It is a tremendous figure for a GV Prakash starrer that too at the time when people are undergoing a cash crunch."
The film has got a clean U certificate an also the Entertainment Tax Exemption granted by the TN Government. This means the 30% tax need not be reduced from the gross collection and that is certainly great news for the producer, distributors and exhibitors.
The film despite getting mixed reviews has managed to get thumbs up from the entertainment buffs mainly due to the performance of GV, RJ Balaji, Prakash Raj, Robo Shankar, Singampuli, Urvashi, Hilarious satires on current issues also seems to have worked out well with the audience.
