With the harvest festival almost drawing to a close, the fire that's been burning bright within the Tamils hasn't seemed to be quenched. Starting as early as December 2016, news about Jallikattu has been storming social media and television channels. Jallikattu's supporters haven't grown tired of fighting for their birthright tradition, while also showing how even the slightest hint of Jallikattu's opposition turns them into a vile, angry mob.
Popular film music composer-cum-actor, G.V Prakash Kumar, has proved to be an avid protagonist of Jallikattu. Following the police's intervention leading to a Lathi charge on the Jallikattu protesters in Alanganallur, Madurai, the provoked young actor says that the police have no rights to hit peaceful protesters. He also recalls famous political identity Dr. Kamarajar's quote, saying that law and order were drafted 'for' the citizens, exclaiming that the citizens must always come first.
The comments by the young music director were tweeted by him on his official twitter page.
