The campaign to get a separate Chair for the Tamil Language studies in 381 year old Harvard University of the USA is gaining momentum. The university already has a chair for Chinese,

Tamil being one of the few ancient classical languages which is still being spoken by crores of people across the globe definitely deserves a place in the Chinese, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, Persian, and many other critically important languages and deeper studies are offered in the university in these languages.

Tamil being one of the ancient classical languages of the world definitely deserves a Chair in the university and hence the campaign is being undertaken by volunteers who involve in collecting funds for this solemn initiative.

To get separate chair for Tamil studies at the Harvard, a total fund of $6 million is required. The volunteers say that already $3 million has been collected and they have fixed a target of getting the remaining about within June 2018.

Now Kollywood's leading music director and hero G.V.Prakash Kumar has donated an undisclosed amount for this precious recognition for the Tamil language. The 'Darling' star has said that he has just given a start and requested that all Tamil people should contribute their share as Tamil is one of the ancient classical languages and every Tamilan should feel proud about it.

Right from being one of the first celebrities to raise his voice for Jallikattu , farmers protest against Hydrocarbon extraction project and so on, G.V.Prakash has been the front runner in upholding the Tamil pride and Tamil people's welfare.
