Auditor Gurumurthy, editor of the political satirical journal Tughlaq, has stated that he had seen ‘action’ initiated by several Governments in the past and added that he was ready this time too to face any defamation suit which might be filed by the State.
Gurumurthy’s retaliation came via his Twitter account to the widespread condemnation of his remarks about Tamil Nadu chief-minister Edapadi K. Palaniswami and deputy chief-minister O. Panneerselvam being ‘impotent’ that they can’t the party’s crises effectively.
Fisheries Minister Jayakumar had immediately responded to Gurumurthy’s remarks and tweeted on his Twitter account that proper action as per existing laws would be initiated against him. Tweeting immediately to respond to the Minister, Gurumurthy said that he had been in the middle of an important legal counseling session and would get back to Twitter very soon.
“I welcome the action (if it is initiated) by the AIADMK Government and the Minister; after all, I have seen many actions by many Governments in the past,” Gurumurthy said and added that he won’t flinch.
