Guru Sishyan Preview

Naming his films after yesteryear blockbusters, that too starring Superstar Rajinikanth, seems to be the latest crush of Shakthi Chidambaram. After 'Rajathi Raja', the Larencce Raghavendra starrer, the director is ready with his next, titled 'Guru Sishyan'.

Produced by Shakthi Chidambaram himself, the film brings together Sundar C and Sathyaraj for the first time. Providing them ample support is Santhanam while adding strength to the movie with her looks is Shruthi of 'Indira Vizha' fame.

Says the director, "the film will hit the screens very soon. Sundar and Sathyaraj have ensured that their performance would enthrall the audience. Santhanam's one-liners would sure bring the roofs down. On the whole, `Guru Sishyan' is a complete commercial entertainer."

On joining hands with Sundar after 'Sandai', Shakthi Chidambaram says, "We decided to join forces again since we share a very good rapport. He forgets the fact that he is a popular director while standing in front of the camera."

He adds: "'As a director, Sundar came out with hilarious entertainers. He is continuing his success show in film industry by proving his mettle in acting too. He is a director's actor".

Sathayaraj had worked with Shakthi Chidambaram for several films earlier including 'Ennama Kannu', 'Englishkaran' and 'Maha Nadigan'. On Sathyaraj, the director says, "We share a wonderful compatibility. He is one of the very few actors who has a great comedy sense. Working again with him is a delight".

On his part, Sundar says, "Guru Sishyan will be a full-length commercial entertainer, with enough importance to comedy and glamour. Sharing the screen space with Sathyaraj is a great experience. He is a seasoned actor."

"Expectations are high for this film as director Sakthi Chidambaram, Sathyaraj, Santhanam and I are known to excel in comedy. People expect a laugh riot when the four of us get together. I am hopeful we would live up to the expectations," he adds.

The movie has musical score by Dheena. Says the music composer, ''Guru Sishyan has peppy music that would find favour with masses. Sundar and Sathyaraj have crooned a song which is one of the highlights. I enjoyed working with Shakthi Chidambaram. He had the knack to extract the best music from me".
