Just a few months back Gurmeet Choudhary was seen in Wajah Tum Ho. The musical thriller also boasted of some melodious music and Gurmeet earned a chartbuster to his name in the form of the title song, 'Wajah Tum Ho'. Along with Sana Khan, he set the screen on fire and also earned a good count of female fans added to his repertoire.
Now that his next film Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana is set for release, Gurmeet has another potential chartbuster in the making, 'Rishta'.
"The song is quite close to Gurmeet's heart because of the feeling of love that it gets with it," informs our source, "'Rishta' has him wooing Akshara Haasan, the leading lady of the film, with all his love and affection. Since Akshara is playing a pregnant unwed girl who is about to get married to Gurmeet, it is a tender love story that is narrated through 'Rishta'."
A 'high on melody' number, 'Rishta' comes at a very crucial point in the film's juncture when Akshara starts getting attracted towards Gurmeet.
"Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana is a light hearted entertainer and though there is a bit of drama in there as well, at the core of it all it stays on to be a fun film with good music taking the narrative forward. A song like 'Rishta' brings in 'thehrav' in the proceedings and with the kind of 'royal' character that Gurmeet is playing in the film, the music goes well with the situation. It is bound to be lapped up by those who have ever been in love," an insider adds.
With the film set for release in 10 days from now, one waits to see the kind of high that 'Rishta' enjoys en route the arrival of Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana on 7th April.
Written and directed by Manish Harishankar and produced by TP Aggarwal and Rahul Aggarwal under the banner Star Entertainment Worldwide Pvt Ltd., the film features Vivaan Shah as another male lead.
