A woman from Gurugram has been arrested for hiring killers to brutally murder her husband.

The alleged incident happened on the night of January 16 when the wife of Joginder Singh (37) paid 16 lakhs to hire seven men to kill her husband. She had suspected that her husband was having an affair with a woman whom she thought all of his property would be transferred to. Following the murder, the woman filed a missing complaint on her husband on January 17. Joginder's body was recovered from a ravine on Sunday. The deceased was tied up in a cotton bag. Preliminary investigation of the matter led to the confession of Joginder's wife who admitted that she had hired contract killers to kill her husband.

The accused, along with the seven killers, has been arrested and detained in judicial custody. Charges have been booked on all of them under appropriate sections of the IPC.
