A 17-year-old girl has been rescued by officials with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, where she was being held captive by a man she met via Facebook. She was allegedly raped constantly by him.
The girl, a resident of Rajasthan's Kota, narrated her traumatic ordeal to the police, mentioning that she was held hostage in the man's home in Guna where his family members aided him with the same. The mother and sister of the accused allegedly harassed her constantly, forcing her to work all day without food. The girl added that she was also constantly raped by the man, before she managed to get hold of his mobile phone one day, using which she informed her father regarding the matter.
The girl's father then approached the Kota police and registered a complaint, following which the three accused were arrested. A case has reportedly been filed under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on charges of rape and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
