The talented actor from the days of `Thai Saheba' Harish Raj opening up his new avatar as director from `Kalakar' lent the style in that film but in his film as director improved a lot. What is the requirement of masses he has ascertained and made a tolerable `Gun' that is loaded with action, sentiments, romantic moments, lovely music, fabulous cinematography, comedy and good production values.
A statue is chiseled after so many fine tuning. Like that Harish Raj in this film with the help of dialogue writer Manju Mandavya attempted a film for all class. In the area of `boozing' he does and sudden shock in the end returning as a cop with all hullaballoo deserved logic.
A dejected youth is roaming around with a quarter of a bottle always in his hand. That is Ganesha looking intoxicated always. Why has he become like that instead of completing Engineering studies? That is what Mallika (Mallika Kapoor) digs as she is an anchor not for pathetic story for the channel but for the audience who are watching the film `Gun' in the cinema halls.
Ganesh has a horrible past that has made him to take drinking. Ganesha as a good student of Engineering fell in love with Vandana (Nikitha) but before they exchange their feelings a shoot out of police and underworld don results in the killing of Vandana in daylight. Ganesha completely in shock is not able to save Vandana. Knowing all the past Mallika asks Ganesha to consider her in place of Vandana. Ganesha is about to propose for Mallika this time another shoot out breaks up that severely injures Mallika. On the spot of shoot out Ganesha picks the Gun of an underworld don and puts him down. That is the earning of more enemies for Ganesha as Wasim Khan the politician brother of killed underworld don becomes the biggest trouble shooter.
How Ganesha shoots the trouble shooter is the climax part. Once bitten in love Ganesha for the second time he is successful.
There is very good strength in Harish Raj. He looks good on screen, delivery of dialogues is fine his romantic moods are pleasant and this time action has come out well from him. He should have pruned his film with a few unnecessary scenes as a director.
Nikitha and Mallika Kapoor are passable on screen. The two raunchy numbers from Kiran Rathod and Rachana Mourya is a treat for front benchers. Rangayana Raghu is once splendid and there is change in his dialogue delivery style.
Ranie Raphel is the winner in his first music in Kannada film. He has given three lovely tunes and that are well written besides capturing pretty well on the screen. Ranie has a good future ahead. The top notch HM Ramachandra and KM Vishnuvardhana cinematography lifts the quality of the film.
This is work a dekko!
Scoring 7/10
