The 9th Annual Teacher's Achievement Awards 2009 was recently held at the Taj Land's End Hotel in Mumbai. The event witnessed several celebrities of the entertainment being honoured. The award night was hosted by Kabir Bedi and his daughter Pooja. Whereas, Mandira Bedi and Boman Irani had entertained the audience with a hilarious chat show.

Shahid Kapoor won the Teacher's People Magazine Achiever award while Priyanka Chopra bagged the Top Entertainer of the Year award. Lyricist Gulzar honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award.

The entertainment jury team included directors Ramesh Sippy and Shyam Benegal, and lyricist Prasoon Joshi.

Similarly personalities from different fields were also honoured, namely Vinita Bali (Business), Saina Nehwal (Sports) and Iqbal Mohammed (Photography & Communications).

Lara Dutta, Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan – with sons Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash, Arshad and wife Warsi Maria Gorretti, Kiran Juneja, Vikram Phadnis and many others had attended the event.
