After the disaster "Johnny", the huge fan following of Pavan Kalyan should be eagerly awaiting the release of "Gudumba Sankar" Sep 10. It is expected to be a routine, commercial action film.

"It will have all the elements that the fans of Kalyan crave for and much more," assures producer Nagababu, the brother of Kalyan.

Even the illustrious Anjana Productions is breaking away from the tradition of making offbeat films to join the commercial bandwagon.

"We heard umpteen stories before finalizing this exciting theme," says director Veerasankar, who has had two flops before. He convinced Kalyan with the storyline and the star gave him the chance of directing it.

National award-winning actress Meera Jasmine plays the female lead.

After the musical hits "Samba" and "Arjun", ace composer Mani Sharma has come up with hit compositions: the film's audio is already selling like hot cakes.

Nothing is known about the contents of "Gudumba Sankar". The publicity material released shows Kalyan in varied getups - as a cop as well as a thug!

He plays an officer in the excise department and the story will be a blend of love and action - considered a 'safe fusion' in Telugu cinema.

Kalyan's stunts and dances are expected to bring in the masses and the youth in a big way and the sentimental parts of the film hopes to lure the family audience.

"We packaged it as an all-round film for all sections," says Nagababu, whose last hit was "Bavagaru Bagunnara".

With a series of huge hits like "Tholi Prema", "Thammudu" and "Kushi", Kalyan joined the big league and later turned director with "Johnny".

Fans, however, rejected the tale of an orphaned youth who struggles to save his cancer-stricken wife.

"'Johnny' will always remain close to my heart," said the young actor, who intends to regain his stardom with a cliched, commercial film.
