When the much applauded trailer of 'Guddu Rangeela' released, one person who got a fair share of praises for his menacing villainous act was Ronit Roy. He plays a devious villain named Biloo Pehalwan and his Haryanvi character in the film has certainly sizzled in the trailer. Not everyone knows this, Ronit had hired a diction teacher and had learnt Haryanvi for six months straight to get the accent bang on for the character that he is playing.
Director Subhash Kapoor, who has earlier won the National Award for the much acclaimed Jolly LLB, confirms, "Ronit plays the menacing antagonist Biloo Pehalwan based in Haryana. Such is his dedication that he spent 6 months working on the lingo and mannerisms of the character. His attire, tone, accent etc is very authentic and he worked very hard on it. So, it's no surprise that he is getting the praises that he totally deserves."
'Guddu Rangeela' is a comedy the narrates the story of two colourful friends Guddu and Rangeela. In a bid to earn quick money, they get messed up with a villain who they never thought would be as powerful as Biloo.
The entertainer that is slated to release on July 3, subtly takes up the issue of khap panchayat. Arshad Warsi and Amit Sadh play the characters Guddu and Rangeela.
