Movie theaters and multiplexes in Tamil Nadu are accepting reservations only for today's show (30.6.2017) and from tomorrow the 1st of July consumers are not able to reserve for the weekend shows. The inconvenience is due to the uncertainty over the fixation of ticket prices.

Taking into consideration only the GST a multiplex ticket price would be Rs. 120 plus gst which amounts to Rs. 153/- but it is anticipated that the TN Government's municipality tax will add another 30 percent which could skyrocket the prices further. Even so late as the eve of the GST roll out the state government is yet to clarify on the issue and all the organizations connected to the film industry are planning to push for a lesser tax to the state and the center today evening. The new releases of the week and some movies from the past weeks that are running well are in the danger of facing losses due to the issues.
