Gritty Priyanka Chopra uncovers the real 'Mary Kom': Trailer

Finally, the trailer for the upcoming film Mary Kom is here to knock you out! The trailer was launched at a popular suburban multiplex amidst a packed house by Priyanka Chopra along with Director Omung Kumar, Producers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the COO of Viacom18 Motion Pictures - Ajit Andhare.

Checkout the National Award Winner, Priyanka Chopra turn gritty in and as Mary Kom' as she awes the audience with her performance in the trailer. Priyanka and her fans have been excited for the trailer launch all along and she was seen tweeting about it to her fans. On the other hand this is Bhansali's first outing in this genre. The power packed trailer showcases Mary Kom's journey starting from her first pair of gloves found at a plane crash site to becoming a five time World Boxing Champion and the only Indian woman boxer to have qualified and won a bronze in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Known for his larger than life creations, Sanjay Leela Bhansali in this one associates with the talented debut director Omung Kumar for this impressive biopic for the first time.

Talking on the trailer launch, Ajit Andhare said, "This film celebrates the never-say-die spirit of Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom. Portrayed by Priyanka as only she can, the screen will come alive with the fierce passion of this champion boxer. This will be a milestone film and defines the kind of path-breaking cinema VMP has always stood for."

Most champions make their name, but she made history. Based on the true story of Mary Kom, the trailer depicts Mary Kom's life beautifully including moments of her struggle where she gave up boxing to enjoy motherhood. Even though the world forgot the boxer's accomplishments, Mary Kom could not forget her passion for boxing. With the support of her husband Mary Kom was able to reignite her zeal and got back to the ring in spite of being a mother to 2 kids.

Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mary Kom' will hit theatres on 5th September 2014.
