Over 11 years after saying goodbye to the cherished NBC series "The Office," Peacock is bringing a new comedy rooted in the same universe as the renowned paper business Dunder Mifflin.
Leading the ensemble cast in the yet-untitled mockumentary series are Sabrina Impacciatore from HBO's "The White Lotus" and Domhnall Gleeson from "Ex Machina," according to a Wednesday press release.
The series centers on a documentary crew that, having immortalized Dunder Mifflin's Scranton location, is looking for a new topic. They happen into a faltering old Midwestern newspaper and the publisher's attempts to bring it back with volunteer reporters.
Acclaimed for his US adaptation of "The Office," Greg Daniels co-creates "Nathan For You" with Michael Koman. Producing the show are original "Office" creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.
Starring in "The Office," which debuted in 2005 and ended in 2013, were Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, and Mindy Kaling. Broadly praised, the show took home five Emmys.
In keeping with its predecessor, the new series explores the banal but amusing aspects of office life in a mockumentary approach.
Although specifics of possible cameos are yet unknown, the Peacock series is set to start filming in July.
