In Telangana's Jagityal, a shocking incident of rape has come to light. A 15-year-old girl, who is studying Standard X at a government school, was impregnated by her grandfather when she visited the latter's home during the recent summer holidays.

The girl swallowed the pain of sexual assault for months. Recently, when she fell sick, her parents took her to a primary health centre, where it was ascertained that she is pregnant. Her parents were shocked and when questioned, the girl said that the grandfather (who is the girl's father's younger brother) raped her.

Devastated, the parents questioned the accused, who denied raping the victim. He even approached the local police with the complaint that there is a threat to his life. The parents, on their part, have lodged a complaint against the grandfather.
