'Shaakuntalam', the epic love story, was recently announced by director-producer Gunasekhar. The news is that a grand set is now being erected at Annapurna Studios under the aegis of art director Ashok.
Giving a glimpse into the work that is on, the makers today tweeted, "Before the grand sets are erected, the miniatures get their finishing touches by Art Director Ashok Garu himself!"
Kalidasa's ‘Shaakuntalam’, which is critically-acclaimed and considered a literary classic, is the basis for the movie. Mani Sharma, who is currently doing big-ticket films like Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya', is on board to captain the music department.
This is a pan-India film for which Samantha is going to sport an angelic look. It will go on the floors later this year. The film will likely release in 2022.
