Come Jan 12th, Nandamuri Nata Simha's movie 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' will hit the screens. In this interview, Balakrishna says that Krish is a unique director for a reason. Read on for more..

"I feel blessed that I have played a character which Nanna garu once wanted to do. Although we know something or the other about various historical personalities, awareness about Satakarni is not proportionate. It's sheer co-incidence that I got to do this subject as my 100th movie."

"The information on Satakarni is not very widely available. Parabrahma Shastri garu and Krishna Shastri garu have provided information. Even though the amount of information is less, the director has done a great job in unveiling the legend."

"It was an indescribable feeling after watching the movie. I hope the audience, too, will feel the same."

"Krish is unique because each of his movies are different from one another. Even some of the big directors are known to deal with similar genres, but Krish is not like that. He is also someone who takes his team along."

"The run-time is 135 minutes. Nowadays we find 3-hour-long movies that have no point. After the film releases, they come with scissors. What is the point in doing that?"

"It was I who suggested Shivarjkumar's name for the character of the 'burra katha' exponent. This is the first time that an actor from his family has done a non-Kannada movie. People there don't accept their legends doing movies in other languages. But Shivrajkumar expressed his willingness to do this role on the same day that he was offered it. His song is very crucial for the movie because it is like a summary."

"I was not nervous even a bit. NTR garu, ANR garu, MGR garu, Sivaji Ganesan garu.. the likes of these have essayed versatile roles. They are our inspiration. I have done distinct roles in such films as 'Bhairava Dveepam', 'Samarasimha Reddy' and 'Narasimha Naidu'."

"Competition is good because only then will good films be made. I wish the other Sankranthi releases all the best. I think 'GPSK' will cross the records of 'Legend'."

"Amitabh Bachchan garu hasn't confirmed whether he will do 'Rythu' or not. But just as there wouldn't have been 'Sri Rama Rajyam' without Nayantara, just as there wouldn't have been 'GPSK' without Hema Malini, there won't be 'Rythu' without him. I am not thinking about SV Krishna Reddy's offer."
