K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday said that, in step with the 11th Pay Revision Commission (PRC)'s recommendations, 30% fitment would be given to government employees. He also added that the retirement age would be increased to 61 years from 58 years.
KCR said that all state government employees, teachers, pensioners and even contract and outsourced staff, among others, will have benefits under the pay revision.
The Chief Minister said that the decision has been taken after duly considering the state of Telangana's finances.
In view of the dent in state finances due to coronavirus, the implementation of the pay revision will start from 1 April 2022. The arrears for one year (from this year to next) will be paid as part of retirement benefits.
