Govinda, Ravi Kissen, Udit Narayan come together for BFA

Bhojpuri industry is soaring great heights each passing days globally and making its presence felt. After the huge success of first bhojpuri film awards, the second Bhojpuri Film Awards (BFA) will mark its glittering presence on 25th March’07 at Goregaon Sports Complex in Mumbai. The award night was earlier scheduled on 16th Feb.’07, now it has been slated for a new date.

Actor and politician Govinda has been recently appointed as the official brand ambassador of the awards. The powerhouse performer will also jig and jive at the bhojpuri event. Bhojpuri Superstar Ravi Kissen will make his grand public appearance after Big Boss promising a live performance with top Bollywood artists and well-known Bhojpuri artists.

Melody King Udit Narayan will pep up the crowd with his hits from bhojpuri and Bollywood films. Many thespians, doyens and celebrities of the Bhojpuri and Hindi film industry will be present to grace the occasion. The event is produced in a collaborative way by Bhojpuri World Magazine and Go Fish Opportunities.

Vinod Gupta, founder and president of Bhojpuri Film Awards and editor of the newly launched magazine Bhojpuri World, said, “Bhojpuri awards commenced last year, because we felt the need to give bhojpuri industry its due importance and honor. It was indeed touching that Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu had graced us with their presence in the first bhojpuri award function. This year we expect it to grow bigger and better by the presence of respected dignitaries from the industry. ”

Mr. Vinod Gupta is young, energetic social activist. He is very passionate to save and encourage ancient bhojpuri culture and heritage. He took initiative to organize this award function. He, the founder Chairperson of these awards, is also chairman of prestigious NGO Netaji Subhash Jankalyan Seva Sangh that has been actively involved in social and cultural activities and reforms for many years.

Being an official Brand Ambassador of BFA, Govinda expressed,” Bhojpuri is where my roots are; this is in my blood & nerves.” His mother Nirmala Devi was from the eastern UP, Banaras origin. He further added, “Bhojpuri culture and tradition gave us great personalities, great Sufi saints, great artistes, great leaders and now I got this opportunity. I am thankful to Vinod Guptaji for his gesture and promise; I will be available for this great cause anytime and shall leave no stone unturned to serve the best of my abilities.”

In a recent press meet, yesteryear bhojpuri actress Kumkum also appreciated the joint efforts being done by Vinod Gupta editor of Bhojpuri World Magazine and Sajjad Khan of Go Fish Opportunities.
