At the President Gold Medal presentation at Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru, the DIG in news Roopa received highest applaud for her recent action.
 
DIG Roopa revealed the Parappana Agrahara Prison mismanagement and alleged Rs.2 crore has exchanged hands in providing five star treatments to convicted Shashikala Natarajan. An inquiry was immediately set up. DIG Roopa and Sathyanarayana facing allegation were relieved and transferred.

DIG Roopa now in state Road Safety and traffic as commissioner got the 2016 Republic Day President of India gold Medal from Karnataka governor Vajubai Vala.
Speaking on this occasion governor of Karnataka stated that police department should safeguard the state like how they look after their family. The 2014, 2015 and 2016 Independence and Republic Day medals were presented to 88 persons.

The Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah present on the occasion stated that the police inquiry takes up speedily and culprits are presented the confidence of police department would increase. In the state police department employees get home, education fees, health benefits, special allowance of Rs.2000 etc. In the last 25 to 30 years the promotions have not taken place. After Congress I coming to power state we have promoted 11000 employees. 18 years of police service to automatically get the promotion is also implemented stated Siddaramaiah.
