Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that his government will reward Rs 13 Lakhs to the nation's women who can give birth and raise 10 children owing to the decrease in the country's population day by day. He signed the order for the same earlier this week.
Reportedly, Russia's population has reduced much after the coronavirus outbreak and the war with Ukraine. Following this, Russian President Vladimir Putin revived Russia’s 'Mother Heroine' title this week for the women who bear and raise 10 or more children.
According to this order, Russian mothers who give birth to 10 or more children will not only be honoured with the title but also they will receive a one-time payment of 1 million rubles (about £13,000; approximately 13 lakhs in Indian rupees) when their tenth child turns one.
It is worth mentioning that Soviet leader Joseph Stalin first established the honorary title ‘Mother Heroine’ in 1944 because of the wake of massive population losses during World War II. More than 4 lakh citizens received this honorary title before it was stopped due to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.
