Government issues guidelines for air travel from May 25

As reported Wednesday, domestic civil aviation operations are set to recommence in a "calibrated manner" from the coming Monday (May 25). The Civil Aviation Ministry has come up with certain specifications regarding air travel.  In keeping with the seriousness of the situation, the government has put in place some rules.

To begin with, only 1/3rd operations will commence.  Physical check-in won't be permitted.  Only web check-in will be in force.

It goes without saying that passengers shall compulsorily wear face masks.  The crew members in the flight shall wear full-fledged PPE.

The passenger can carry only one check-in bag.  No meals are allowed, and no magazines will be permitted.

Passengers will have to report at least 2 hours before the scheduled time of the flight's departure.

The passenger should travel in an authorized taxi or personal vehicle, following the norms specified by the Home Ministry, to the airport.

A self-declaration form will have to be submitted.  Alternatively, the Arogya Setu app installation in your smartphone is a must.

Vulnerable sections like the elderly, pregnant women, and persons with ailments are advised to avoid air travel.
