After the back to back hit of Karnan and Master, Gouri Kishan has now bagged a challenging role in a period drama directed by Vijay Prakash. It is said t be a female-centric film based on a Tamil novel Oru Kottuku Veliye by Su Samuthiram.
Director Vijay Prakash said that “It’s a period film, based on the novel Oru Kottuku Veliye by Su Samuthiram. I studied Tamil literature when I was in college and worked on this particular novel for a project. It was then that I decided that I’d adapt it into a film.”
Speaking about the role of Gouri he said “Gouri’s character is a fighter, who faces issues because of caste, Gouri will be seen in a different look, and will also speak in the Nellai slang,” he added.
The team began shooting or this film in Tirunelveli. The film is reportedly based on caste discrimination and stars GM Sundar, Marimuthu and Arul Mani in lead roles. Ilaiyaraaja is roped in to compose music for this film.
