Kamal Hassan has expressed his desire to watch 'Gour Hari Dastan' during a recent media conference for his upcoming movie 'Papanaasam'.

Coincidently the director of the film Mr Ananth Mahadevan is playing the role of IGs husband and father of the boy who goes missing in 'Papanaasam'.

Speaking on this the proud director says,"I was filming Papanaasam, the Tamil version of the hit Malayalam film Drishyam, when I got the news of the Official Selection at Paris of my biopic on the independence hero Gour Hari Das. Kamal Haasan was intrigued to know that I had made a film called GOUR HARI DASTAAN - THE FREEDOM FILE on Das' second freedom fight....with the Indian government!

He had seen by earlier biopic Mee Sindhutai Sapkal and loved it. So when he heard about the irony of the last of our freedom fighters being made to run from pillar to post to establish his identity, the historian in him went back to his own lineage where freedom fighters had spent their lives for the nation.

He immediately expressed desire to watch 'Gour Hari Dastaan - The Freedom File' and even offered to upload it at his own home theatre, which he revealed is equipped with a Qube server for projection. I will be arranging to have the link up done as soon as Papanaasam is released next week and he has some more time on his hands. He was amazed that I had made the film in a modest budget and in 30 shooting shifts."
