Veteran comedy actor Goundamani started acting in the lead character in a film title `49 O` towards the end of the year 2013. The film has been directed by P.Arockhiyadas, a former assistant to director Gautham Menon. The title itself suggests that the film has a political theme. Later it was said that the film will highlight the pathetic lives of farmers in an agrarian nation like India.

In 2014 it was said that the film will release after the Lok Sabha Elections held in May. However the film could not release throughout the year. Now more than half of 2015 is over and still there has been no confirmation on when the film would release.

Now a news has come on a positive note which may put an end to such uncertainty, it has been confirmed that the music album of the film composed by K will hit the music stores on September 6.

The audio release poster also carries the tag September Release` which hints that the film itself may release in the month of September.
