Got tears on watching the ad: Puri Jagannadh

An ad brought out by the Kannada film industry has moved Puri Jagannadh to tears. It comes with the theme of urging the audience to walk into theatres and adorn the seats once again. The pandemic has devastated the film industry, leaving exhibitors and cine workers with heavy losses and loss of livelihood. The ad sensitively shows the plight of a theatre owner, who is seen sorely missing the rush, the whistles, the joy of exhibiting movies to a packed house. When crowds start coming back in trickles, a smile brightens his face.

Plugging the ad, which features some of the biggest names of Sandalwood uring the audience to be back, Puri said that he got emotional on watching it. The theatre is our mother, the 'iSmart Shankar' director wrote.

The director has been making podcasts of late. He recently celebrated nepotism and shamed those who are against it. On the work front, Puri will be resuming the shoot of Vijay Deverakonda's 'Fighter' soon. Ananya Pandey is its heroine. Ramya Krishna and others are part of the cast.
