Gopika wins case against hotel

Actress Gopika had filed a case against a leading hotel in Thrissur for cheating and fraudery in the consumer court. The services of the hotel was booked for her engagement function. Accordingly, she had booked food for 900 people costing Rs 250 per plate. Her father, Anto Francis had paid Rs25,000 as advance. After the function, a further amount of 2 and a half lakhs was also paid, for which no bill was given.
Later on, the hotel claimed that they had given food for 1408 guests and also did not account the 2 and a half lakhs, which was when the actress and her father approached the consumer court.
After evidences were examined and the witnesses cross-questioned, the arguments of the hotel has been dismissed since the evidences were against them. The court ordered the hotel to pay Gopika Rs 50,000 as compensation.
