While many Tamil heroes like Rajini, Kamal, Surya, Karthi, Vikram, Ajit etc enjoy a decent market in Telugu, enabling them to plan their Telugu version for a wide release, Telugu heroes haven't been able to crack the code. Neither could Chiru, Nag or Venky could do that nor the new age heroes like Mahesh, Pawan Kalyan. So, it's still a mystery for our heroes to build a market in Tamil.

Now, Gopichand is making an attempt in a bilingual action flick that would reintroduce the actor as a hero. He did his debut as an antagonist in the Tamil remake of ‘Jayam’ years ago. Veteran director B. Gopal is directing the film produced by Jaya Balaji Real Media. Mani Sharma is composing the music and Nayanatara is the female lead in the film that has taken off yesterday in Chennai.

Gopichand, being brought up in Chennai, is quite familiar with the language and will be dubbing for his voice himself. It will be interesting to see if the Telugu typecast will be received well in Tamil and establish Gopi as the first Telugu hero to make it on Tamil soil.
