Google has released its 'Year In Search 2020' report, which lists out the top searches of 2020. 'Indian Premier League' has topped the 'trending search query' list, followed by ‘Coronavirus', ‘US election results', ‘PM Kisan Yojana', and ‘Bihar election results'. The last two definitely come as a surprise.
Googling about the lockdown, the famous Nirbhaya case, the Beirut explosion, the bushfires in Australia, and the locust swarm attack, which triggered apprehensions in Summer, also featured among top searches.
As for the top trending movies, Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' made it. It's the only south Indian movie to do so. 'Dil Bechara', 'Tanhaji', 'Shakuntala Devi', 'Gunjan Saxena', 'Laxmii', 'Sadak 2', 'Baaghi 3', 'Extraction', and 'Gulabo Sitabo' topped the search list.
The most-googled personalities list was topped by Joe Biden emerged, followed by Arnab Goswami, Bollywood playback singer Kanika Kapoor, Kim Jong-Un, Amitabh Bachchan, Rashid Khan, Rhea Chakraborty, Kamala Harris, Ankita Lokhande and Kangana Ranaut. It's telling that two of the top searches are related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death news.
