We all have been there. For each and every other thing, we’ve went running to Google. And one particular 24 year old girl wanted to end her life due to a bad break up and decided to search for ways to do the same in Google. Well, we know you’re scared. No Google did not come up with inventive pain free methods.
What surprisingly it did was it produced suggestiions of free sucide helpline numbers of Aasra, a crisis prevention centre. The girl dialled the given number which helped her reach the Deputy Inspector General of Police.
“On January 3, I got a call from the girl on my public number. She was quite nervous and was about to end her life. She told me she had even searched how to kill herself on Google. Among the search results, she told me, she found my number. I heard her out and told her to come to my office so we could talk about it in detail,” the inspector said.
This was possible only due to Google’s deep learning system which operates in a similar fashion to that the human brain’s neural network. Since this happened, Google has been receiving praises from the common people.
