On Friday afternoon, Google Play Store removed Paytm from its repository over alleged privacy violations. Google accused Paytm of introducing a casino scheme for its users. The news is that Paytm worked with Google and got its app restored.

Announcing that Paytm is back on Google Play, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the founder of Paytm, asked if launching a cashback scheme tantamounts to gambling. "Paytm App is back, live in Play Store. We launched a UPI CashBack campaign this morning. Our app got suspended by Google for this. India, you decide if giving cash back is gambling," he tweeted out. "Google is acting like the judge, jury and executioner," he told a news channel earlier in the day.

He is not the only one to question Google on the suspension of Paytm. Sumanth Raghavendra, an entrepreneur, asked, "Google dropped Paytm from its app store because of scratch stickers offering cashback? Seriously? Doesn't Google Pay offer the exact same "casino" incentive for every transaction in its own app?"
