Recently, hundreds of Google employees working in different countries staged a walkout from their office desks to protest against sexual harassment at the workplace. Their protests were in solidarity with those employees who have made sexual misconduct allegations against senior executives.
As reported by 'Guardian', some employees left a flyer at their desk before joining the silent protests. “I am not at my desk because I am walking out in solidarity with other Googlers and contractors to protest against sexual harassment, misconduct, lack of transparency and a workplace culture that’s not working for everyone.”
A list of demands of Google employees is below:
An end to forced arbitration in cases of harassment and discrimination.
A commitment to end pay and opportunity inequity.
A publicly disclosed sexual harassment transparency report.
A clear, uniform, globally inclusive process for reporting sexual misconduct safely and anonymously.
It's outstanding that something of this sort has happened in a company.
