Google buys part of HTC smartphone biz

Software Giant Google already has a strong presence with its Operating System already the strongest in terms of mobile platforms. Now Google has chipped in $1 billion investment to buy a division of HTC smartphones. This is the second time has ventured into the smartphone segment as six years ago ventured into smartphone business by buying Motorola's mobility segment for $12.5 billion. With entry into HTC's mobile division, Google is set to compete with mobile majors - Samsung, LG and Huawei.
