Vijayakanth emerged the dark horse in the recently concluded Assembly elections garnering huge share of votes. He played the spoilsport by eating away the vote share of prominent parties like AIADMK, DMK, MDMK and BJP at many Assembly seats.

The success of Vijayakanth at political front has brought him respect in film industry.

His Perarasu which is lying in the cans for a long time is in big demand now thanks to his new-found success.

Distributors, who once turned away from buying the film have reportedly expressed great interest in buying the movie.

It is predicted that the movie would do good business and would help producer Khaja Mohideen revive his fortunes.
