In the early 90s, there was a sudden splurge in the campus movies being made following the success of films like 'Dil', 'Jaan Tere Naam' and 'Khiladi'. The momentum slowed down towards the end of the decade with the genre becoming almost extinct in the 21st century as hardly a film or two based on campus lives are being made in Bollywood every year.

2007 now sees a campus film coming from the production house of Subhash Ghai that goes by the name of 'Good Boy Bad Boy'. A film that tackles the values of education and the system that prevails, GBBB is a light hearted comedy centered on two characters - one who is a 'Good Boy' and the other who is a 'Bad Boy'.

Let's introduce both of them to you.

Rajan Malhotra [Tusshar Kapoor] is a quintessential good boy studying in a college. For him, life is books and books are his life. The only aim in his life to study hard and make sure that he is the best when it comes to being educated.

Devoid of all the fun in life that comes as a part of campus deal, his only moments of fun are when he is immersed in studies. So much so that even his parents are worried about his lack of interest in anything that is related to sports or other extracurricular activities.

In nutshell - A complete bookworm!

As anyone would have guessed it by now, the bad boy out here in the college, Raju Malhotra [Emraan Hashmi] is a complete opposite. For him, life is having fun and fun is his life. The only aim in his life to play hard and make sure that he is the best when it comes to being the most popular and the best prankster.

Devoid of all the studies in life that come as a part of campus deal, his only moments of fun are when he is out there with his friends. So much so that his dad is worried about his lack of interest in anything that is related to studies.

In nutshell - A complete prankster!

So these are for you - Rajan and Raju!

Looking at bringing reforms in the college through his indigenous ways is its Principal [Paresh Rawal]. He comes with novel means to ensure discipline in the campus.

He splits up the college into two halves - One for the GOOD, another for BAD!

Though it was quite obvious that Rajan would get into the 'good' half of the college wheras Raju would lead straight into the 'bad' half, the obvious didn't quite happen. As luck would have it, their files get swapped.

And lo! Rajan finds himself amidst the bad crowd while Raju is trapped amongst everyone in the college who is good.

And the fun begins!

For Rajan, it is quite a cultural shock to be studying with those youngsters for whom books were a taboo. On the other hand Raju could not resist tear his hair in frustration as he had hardly anyone left to have fun with.

In their lives enter a 'bad girl' [Tanushree Dutta] and a 'good girl' [Isha Sharvani] respectively. And with them, the lives were never the same again for Rajan and Raju!

What follows from hereon is a series of fun events which didn't just bring about a change in the personalities of both Rajan and Raju but also educated everyone about the real meaning of education.

Directed by Ashwini Chaudhary who has to his credit sensitive films like 'Dhoop' and 'Siskiyaan', 'Good Boy Bad Boy' sees him trying his hand at a different genre. With music by Himesh Reshammiya, the film is touted to be a laugh riot and is slated for a May 11 release.
