Good news for Andhra cine audiences

At multiplexes and cinemas, audiences can now carry outside food in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, Vijayawada, has come out with an order to this effect. Multiplex managements will now be asked by the Controller of Legal Metrology to allow packaged water, soft drinks and food carried by patrons into cinema halls.
Also, an order to uphold the right of consumers to choose has been issued. Multiplexes should now sell all products at MRP. If not, they can hike the price to a mild extent. But exorbitant charging will attract penalties. Also, drinking water should be made available for free inside theatre premises.
The above orders should be implemented within 2 months.
