The prestigious Golden Globe Awards 2021 was held virtually early this morning (IST) hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. This years edition in the midst of the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic has thrown in a few surprises and the best is Chloé Zhao, who directed “Nomadland”, becoming the first woman of Asian descent and second woman ever to win the Best Director award in the Golden Globes' 78-year history!

Sacha Baron Cohen known for his outrageous comedy films won the Best Actor - Musical/Comedy (Film) for his documentary Borat Subsequent Moviefilm the sequel to his 2006 super hit 'Borat'. The late Chadwick Boseman was honored with a special Golden Globe for his performance in Nomadland which also won the Best Motion Picture in the drama category.
