Sumanth, Swati starrer 'Golconda High School' is a new genre to Telugu cinema. With sports as the backdrop, GHS is being touted as the 'Chak De' of Telugu cinema. Infact this movie has a lot of resemblence to 'Chak De' as Sumanth plays 'Sampath' a cricket coach for the GHS cricket team. The movie is a celluloid form of the novel 'The Men Within'. Producer P Rammohan, director Indraganti Mohanakrishna got together to make this film after their successful 'Ashtachamma' two years ago.
With tag line 'Aatalu Maa Hakku'( Sports is our right), GHS is for those who have been craving for a different cinema.Made by 'Ashtachamma' team, GHS has Subbaraju, Thanikella Bharani, Jhansi et al. The story of a cricket coach who inspires GHS students to win a cricket championship and saves the school ground from being converted into a coaching centre, Indraganti Mohanakrishna is all set to recreate 'Ashtachamma' magic at box office this Sankranti.
Swati who is against skin show in movies is seen wearing sarees and holding books all through the film.She plays an English teacher who is in love with Sumanth. The main track, 'Jago Jagore Jago Jago' by Kalyani Mallik is in tandem with the inspirational coach story like GHS.
The team spent an year on making this film and got the star cast trained in cricket for over two months at M L Jayasimha cricket academy in the city. Sumanth is seen with a french beard and the first look of the film got people talking about it. It is surely a film to watch out for this Sankranti and will give the other films a run for their money for sure.
